Emission reduction and renewable energy sources form part of our thinking as we investigate how best to connect supply chains, while minimising our shared global carbon footprint.
Recently, Hilton Haulage has invested in Hydrogen technology with a HYDI trial unit currently being tested. The HYDI unit utilises a hydrogen converter kit on the back of the cab. Distilled water and waste energy from the alternator provides a hydrogen injection directly into the manifold. Initial trials are showing promising results of up to 10% fuel efficiency and associated carbon reduction. We continue to monitor these results eagerly and share with you the progress.
